Central FS has grown from a two-person start-up in 2016 into one of Central Scotland’s trusted fire, security and electrical contractors, with bases in Glasgow and Perth and a team that keeps expanding. We’re always keen to hear from skilled engineers, electricians and ambitious apprentices who want to do the job properly and grow with a company that invests in its people.
Why work at Central FS
- Real variety. Fire, security and electrical work across homes and businesses — from a single alarm to a full commercial fit-out. No two days the same.
- Backed by accreditation. You’ll work to NICEIC, SSAIB, BAFE and Constructionline standards, with the training and equipment to do it right.
- Room to grow. A lot of our engineers and electricians started as apprentices. We promote from within and support the qualifications that get you there.
- A team that has your back. Supportive supervisors, properly stocked vans, and directors who came up through the trade themselves.

Who we’re looking for
Service & Installation Engineers
This is the core of what we do. As a fire and security engineer you will install, commission, service and fault-find the systems that keep our customers safe: fire alarms and detection, intruder and burglar alarms, CCTV, door access control and integrated security setups. One day you might be first-fixing a commercial fire alarm, the next you could be servicing a domestic CCTV system or diagnosing a fault on an existing panel.
You will work across Glasgow, Perth and the wider Central Belt, often as the only Central FS person on site, so we want someone who is confident, tidy and good with customers as well as technically strong.

Electricians
Our electrical side covers everything from domestic rewires and consumer unit upgrades to commercial installation, testing and maintenance. As an electrician with Central FS you could be carrying out an EICR one morning, installing lighting or an EV charge point in the afternoon, and completing PAT testing or remedial works the next day. It is varied, hands-on work with a steady pipeline of projects across Central Scotland.

Apprentices
Fire & security and electrical apprenticeships for people starting out. You’ll learn on real jobs alongside experienced engineers, with your training fully supported at all times
What you’ll bring
- A reliable work ethic and genuine pride in a job done right.
- Relevant qualifications — or, for apprentices, a real willingness to earn them.
- A full UK driving licence (most roles are mobile across Central Scotland).
- A good customer manner — you’re the face of Central FS in people’s homes and businesses.

Accredited, and growing
Central FS holds full accreditation from NICEIC, SSAIB (UKAS 131), BAFE (ID 302367) and Constructionline (Silver). For you, that means proper standards, ongoing training, and a company building a serious reputation across Scotland for delivering high quality results.
