Live View Function
How to use the live view function
Login to the device using the username or pattern method (password is case sensitive)
Start by selecting the camera icon on the top menu bar, this allows the live view.
Select the circled icon, this will then allow the screen layout to be set as required, you can then highlight any box in the layout and select a camera from the left display.
Play Back Menu
How to use the play back menu
Login to the device using the username or pattern method (password is case sensitive)
From the top menu bar select the playback icon.
Start by selecting the camera(s) from the left hand selection (Max 16) and the time and date you would like to playback from. Playback can only go back according to the retention period set upon installation. You can also change the layout using the screen layout option again. Anything marked with a blue triangle on the date range indicates video evidence may exist.
Once the camera(s) and time & date have been selected, the playback will begin in the main window, this is the NORMAL playback function as selected above the timeline. Depending on the setup you will have blue and red markers in the timeline, blue marks constant record, red is event markers for motion, VCA etc.
Once playback has started you are able to pause, play, rewind, speed up and slow down footage using the standard DVD type controls, this allows precise control over the video selection.
In each camera pane you are able to click and select options as per the tool bar below. From left to right the options are; snapshot (to be saved in local HDD), tagging (to allow easy searching of footage again), digital zoom, audio (on/off if supported), locking of footage, VCA search function and fisheye camera de-warping (fisheye camera required).

How to use the smart search function
Login to the device using the username or pattern method (password is case sensitive)
When logged in please go to the playback menu using the playback icon.
In smart playback mode, the device can analyse videos that contain motion, line or intrusion detection information, and mark them in red.
Go to playback, click Smart, and then click motion detection ( ), line crossing detection ( ), or intrusion detection ( ), in the toolbar at the bottom to search and play the video as you desire.
For certain camera models that can detect human and vehicles, you can click ( ) and ( ) to search human and vehicle targets. When you are playing back human and vehicle videos, it cannot search line crossing detection
( ) and intrusion detection ( ) videos which are based on the human and vehicle videos.
You can also use the custom search function that will allow you to define the search parameters as below
You can play the video by customised search conditions:
- Go to Playback
- Select camera(s) from the list
- Click Custom Search on the bottom left
- Enter search conditions, including time, file status, event type, etc.
Using the standard playback or Smart playback mode, check the footage required is available for export.
Insert USB media into the USB port on the device. Depending on the device there will be a port on the front and rear of the unit, please make sure the USB inserted has suitable space for the footage to be saved. If a model with DVD/RW is being used you may open the DVD/RW draw and insert the blank media ready for export.
To export:
- Make sure all the camera(s) that you want to export are selected from the channel list on the left hand side, then correct time & date is selected
- Select the scissor icon
- Adjust the time brackets to the desired time of export
- Once the time is selected then press the save icon
Make sure the USB device is selected.
You can create a new folder on the USB to save the footage by selecting the +New Folder icon and name as required.
Once the folder has been created press OK and the export will begin, depending on the footage length the export time will vary.
Fire Alarms (Conventional System)
Weekly Test
How do I carry out a weekly fire alarm test?
Check if your system is linked to a monitoring station. If so, please call 08448099980 and give the site address and chip number or password to put on test.
Make sure you have the reset key for the call point and code or key for the fire panel.
After you have pressed the call point, insert the white key into the front. Turn the key clockwise to pop the plastic back out (your sirens will be ringing).
Go to the fire panel, turn the red key to the 1 position or put in your code. Check the accessed light is amber.
Check the red light flashing on the panel matches the area tested.
Press silence/resound sounders which should stop the sounders. Then press control panel reset and red lights will go off on the panel.
If the system doesn’t reset, check the call point tested has been reset properly.
Any further assistance that is required, call Central FS on 0141 530 1244 and you will be transferred through to an experienced technician.
Stop Activated Alarm
My alarm has activated, how do I stop it?
First, ensure there is no fire, evacuate if there are any signs.
Check the fire panel for the activated zone, the device in the activated zone will have a red light showing – or if this is a call point it will have been visibly pushed.
When you have found the issue, reset the fire panel/call point.
If the alarm keeps sounding call us on 0141 530 1244 for assistance.
How To Fix Fault
My alarm is in fault, how do I fix it?
There will be an amber light indicating what fault is on the panel.
Power supply fault – ensure power hasn’t tripped at the DB board.
General fault – check what zone has an amber light flashing, then make sure no detectors have been removed from the ceiling.
For any assistance needed call us on 0141 530 1244 and you will be transferred to an experienced technician.
Fire Alarms (Addressable System)
Weekly Test

Check the location text of the call point tested matches where tested.
Press silence alarm and then reset. This should reset the system to normal operation with no red/amber lights showing.
If the system does not reset, check the call point tested has been reset with the key

Stop Activated Alarm
My alarm has activated, how do I stop it?
First, ensure there is no fire, evacuate if there are any signs.
Check the fire panel, this will tell you on the screen the exact location of the device that has activated the alarm.
When you have found the device, if it is a manual call point use the white key to reset it first.
Use your code or turn the key then press silence and reset.
If the alarm keeps sounding, please call Central FS on 0141 530 1244.
How to Fix Fault
My alarm is in fault, how do I fix it?
There will be an amber light indicating what fault is on the panel and the location of the fault should be on the LED screen.
Mains fail – Please check your electricity hasn’t tripped and all breakers on your DB Board.
Disconnected fault – check location noted on LED screen and make sure the device has not been taken down.
For any further assistance call Central FS on 0141 530 1244 and you will be transferred to a technician.

Set off Alarm by Accident, How to Reset
I have set off my alarm by accident, how do I reset it?
Enter your code to silence the alarm, then press ‘No’.
If this does not reset or shows ‘engineer request required’, Call us on 0141 530 1244 and you will be transferred to an experienced technician.

App not Connecting?
Why is my app not connecting?
Please check the WIFI router is turned on and working and that you have not recently changed the router.
If you get an error message reading “Connecting failed. Certificate error” please call us on 0141 530 1244 as your subscription needs renewed.
