What our customers say

Burglar alarms are a highly effective deterrent against intruders, with the mere sight of an alarm box on the side of your property being enough to make most potential burglars move on elsewhere.

Should a criminal still attempt to gain access despite the presence of an alarm, the system’s activation will alert your security staff or our 24/7 alarm receiving centre, allowing for real-time response to emergency situations.

We’re an SSAIB approved and accredited installer, every job we fit can connect through to our own 24hr alarm receiving centre, and the same experienced engineers can turn their hand to your CCTV, access control or electrics on the same visit if you need it.

Types of intruder alarm system we install

An intruder alarm does two separate jobs: the visible box and sensors put someone off trying your door in the first place, and if that doesn’t work, the wiring behind it detects and reports the attempt.

We design and fit both halves properly. Sensors that trip but never notify anyone still leave the response half of the job undone.

We fit systems across the full range, and the right one depends on what you’re protecting.

Commercial and multi-site security solutions

To protect your business properly, a control panel and a few sensors usually aren’t enough.

A retail unit wants stockrooms and till points covered as well as the doors, and a warehouse needs perimeter detection across a much bigger footprint.

A multi-site operator gets every location reporting into one account instead of five separate logins to manage.

These intruder systems are designed as integrated setups, often tied into CCTV and access control so the alarm, the cameras and the door readers all report through one interface, and our security installation team commissions everything as a single job.

External and perimeter detection

A building’s four walls are only part of the site.

Yards, car parks, loading bays and boundary fence lines all need their own coverage on a commercial property, and an intruder can be on site well before they reach a door or window.

We fit external beam detectors along fence lines, ground-level sensors around vulnerable stretches of perimeter, and floodlight-linked detection over car parks and loading areas, all reporting back to the same control panel as the internal system.

For a warehouse or distribution site, catching someone crossing the yard matters as much as catching them inside the building.

Domestic wireless and smart-app burglar alarms

Our alarms for homes usually mean going wireless: no cabling chased through walls, and a faster job. Door and window contacts, motion sensors and a control panel talk to an app on your phone.

A triggered sensor reaches you wherever you are rather than just sounding a siren the neighbours ignore.

We size the setup to the house, and we’d rather quote accurately than sell you more than the property needs.

An effective deterrent, backed by 24/7 monitoring

A visible box, sensors in view through a window and a solid front door together make an effective deterrent. A would-be intruder sees them before they try anything, and that sight alone is usually enough to send them looking elsewhere.

Insurers factor this visible layer into their risk assessments when they price cover for a property.

Should someone still try their luck, an activated system sends an alert straight to our alarm receiving centre, staffed around the clock.

From there, a confirmed alert can escalate to a real-time response, including a police call-out where the circumstances warrant it.

A monitored setup gets a person looking at the alert within seconds of it triggering, and that person can dispatch a keyholder or call the police while the attempt is still happening.

SSAIB approval and what it means for your system

Central FS is SSAIB approved.

Our installation and monitoring are checked against recognised quality standards under regular inspection rather than us marking our own homework.

SSAIB approval isn’t a legal requirement to fit an alarm in Scotland, so it only becomes visible as a gap when an insurer asks for evidence of it after a claim, or a landlord’s lease specifies it and the paperwork isn’t there.

Central FS holds that approval alongside our BAFE accreditation on fire, so the same inspected standard covers every system we design and fit for you.

Choosing the right security system for your business or home

Business premises holding stock, cash or client files overnight need something different from a house you want secure while you’re away.

Larger or higher-risk commercial sites often justify a hardwired or hybrid setup with more detection points, external coverage across the grounds, and tighter integration with CCTV and access control.

Wireless goes in fast and expands easily if your needs change, so it works well for homes and smaller commercial premises where the exposure is lower.

We talk you through the actual security solutions available at survey stage.

A local Scottish company also means an accredited engineer who knows the property types common to this part of the country.

We’ve built a strong team around that local knowledge, and they get to know your premises properly rather than treating each visit as a one-off call-out.

Intruder alarm systems across Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh

A retail chain with branches in Glasgow and Edinburgh, or a warehouse operator with sites on both sides of the Central Belt, needs one installer covering every address rather than a different local firm at each one.

Central FS works from two bases, so a multi-site business gets a single point of contact wherever its premises sit.

Glasgow handles the west and the Central Belt, and Perth covers Tayside and the wider east coast, with our routine reach extending as far as Oban between the two.

If your premises fall somewhere in between or right on the edge of that reach, get in touch and we’ll confirm coverage.

Intruder alarms in Scotland FAQ

Does an intruder alarm cover the outside of a building as well?

For most commercial sites, it should. A warehouse or yard with stock or vehicles outside is exposed long before anyone reaches a door, so internal-only coverage misses the point where the loss usually happens. Whether external detection is worth the extra cost depends on what’s stored outside and how exposed the perimeter is, and the survey is where we work that out together.

What standards should intruder alarm installation in the UK follow?

Alarm grading and installation standards sit under British and European standards for intruder and hold-up systems, and an approved installer’s work is often checked against them by an inspection body such as SSAIB. Insurers and landlords often ask for evidence of that approval before they’ll accept a system as meeting their requirements.

How much does servicing and maintenance cost?

An annual service visit covers testing every sensor, checking battery backup, and confirming the control panel is still reporting correctly to the alarm receiving centre. Our engineers price this as part of your original quote, so it’s a known figure from day one.

Why choose a local Scottish company for home security installation?

The engineer who surveys your property is the same one who fits the system and comes back for the annual service, so nobody’s re-explaining the job to a new face each time. They also know the building stock in this part of the country, which matters when siting sensors in a Victorian tenement versus a new-build with cavity walls.

What affects the cost of an intruder alarm?

The number of sensors, whether it’s wired or wireless, and how much external detection the site needs are the main factors. A single retail unit is a simpler job than a multi-site business or a warehouse with grounds to cover. We always assess your site before providing a free, no-obligation quote.
