These systems make your property more secure as you can control exactly who is going in and out. You can even reduce it to specific rooms to make sure only certain employees can enter.
Central FS fits door access control systems for offices, retail units, warehouses and multi-tenant buildings across Scotland. We install CCTV, intruder alarms and fire systems too, so one team of engineers handles the lot instead of you bringing in separate contractors.

We’re SSAIB approved, and our own engineers handle every stage, from the initial site survey through to programming exactly who can get through which door.

Access control systems we install
We fit a full range of door entry systems, each one built around what the premises needs rather than sold as a fixed package. Some sites need one door covered, while others need dozens across several buildings reporting into a single system.
Keypad and code entry
A keypad is the simplest form of access control, using a code instead of a key to unlock the door.
Changing the code takes minutes, so a lost or shared code gets shut down the exact same day, not weeks later.
When advanced protection is needed, it can be combined easily with other entry methods on the same building, rather than replacing them.

Card and fob entry
Card entry and fob entry give each person their own credential. A lost card gets deactivated on its own instead of forcing a full rekey.
Every swipe can also be logged against that person’s identification, giving you an accurate record of who came and went, rather than an assumption.
Of the four methods we fit, this is the one most commercial sites end up choosing.
Staff turnover doesn’t mean rekeying anything, because permissions update the moment someone joins or leaves.
Offices, warehouses and retail units with regular staff changes see the biggest difference switching over from a traditional key.
Biometric access control Scotland
Fingerprint and facial recognition remove the credential altogether, since nobody can lend out or lose their own fingerprint. This can be particularly useful in server rooms, pharmacies, labs and anywhere else handling controlled stock.
Certainty about who opened a specific door outweighs the extra convenience of a card in highly controlled settings.
Door entry and intercom systems
Intercom systems let a visitor speak to reception or a mobile before a door ever opens.
A shared entrance is a common use case, or anywhere you’d rather see or hear a caller before buzzing them straight in.
Central FS can tie this into the same control panel as your keypad or card readers. A visitor buzzed in through the intercom then logs against the same system as everyone else.
Automatic gates and barrier security systems
We also fit automatic gates, rising barriers, bollards and turnstiles for sites that need to control access at the perimeter, ahead of the building entrance.
Grounds with vehicles coming and going all day need a different approach to a single pedestrian door.
Car parks, depots and industrial yards make up most of this work, and we usually pair the barrier with CCTV covering the same entrance.
One system instead of three separate logins
Access control works best fully networked into the rest of your security, rather than standing alone.
We can tie your door readers into the same cameras and the same app as your CCTV installation. A fob swipe and the footage from that moment then sit together, instead of two separate logs you’d need to cross-reference.
The same applies to your intruder alarm.
Arming the system can lock every door automatically, and a genuine alert can route through to our alarm receiving centre alongside the access log.
Where a building needs fire door monitoring too, we connect that through the same fire alarm system, so doors release the moment an alarm activates.
A door reader running separately from the cameras and the alarm panel leaves gaps between the three.
Managing the readers, CCTV and alarm through one central interface is one of the main reasons we are trusted by businesses across Scotland for integrated and reliable all-in-one security solutions.
Commercial and domestic access control systems
Commercial sites usually need more than a single reader. An office with several departments, or a warehouse with staff and visitors moving through different doors, benefits from multiple doors reporting into one system.
Multiple doors reporting into one system lets you pull an accurate roll call in an evacuation. You can also check staff movement after hours from the log rather than memory.
A landlord managing a multi-tenant building gets separate access permissions per tenant, so one company’s staff can’t wander into another’s suite by accident.
Domestic access control is simpler, usually a keypad or fob on a side gate, a garage, or a shared close door.
Full control still matters at home, particularly for a rental property or Airbnb. Previous tenants might otherwise keep a working key long after they’ve moved out.
What a weak access setup costs you
Rekeying a whole building after one lost key or an awkward departure costs money and takes time to arrange.
Skip that step even once, and keys end up in circulation that nobody can account for, held by people who no longer work there.
That gap matters more than it used to.
Insurers and landlords increasingly expect proof of who can access a site, particularly on a multi-tenant building or anywhere handling stock, cash or sensitive records.
Without a log, you’re guessing after an incident instead of checking a record. Guessing is a poor position to be in if the police, an insurer, or your own board ever ask who was on site.
With Central FS bespoke access control systems, that guesswork disappears. Access can be granted or removed with ease, and no keys are left unaccounted for once someone has gone.
Why choose Central FS for access control solutions
SSAIB accreditation
We hold SSAIB accreditation for security work, so independent inspectors check our installation standards on a regular basis.
One team for fire, security and electrical
Fire, security and electrical work all sit under one roof at Central FS. The engineers programming your door readers can also handle your fire alarms or your fuse board on the same visit.
Combining the two visits saves a landlord or facilities manager juggling separate contractors for what’s really one job.
Local engineers, local offices
Our engineers train through an in-house apprenticeship scheme, so a good number of the people fitting your system came up through Central FS itself.
We’re based in Glasgow, with a second office in Perth, covering the Central Belt, Tayside and as far as Oban.
How our access control installation works
- Free site survey. We walk the premises with you, count the doors that need covering, and talk through keypad, card, fob and biometric options honestly.
- Design and quote. We put together a system sized to your building, not a standard package, and give you a fixed price with no obligation.
- Installation. Our own engineers fit the readers, control panels and wiring, and set up the software that assigns permissions.
- Programming and handover. We set up who can access which door and when, then show you how to add or remove permissions yourself.
- Ongoing support. Regular servicing and repair keeps the system reliable, and our engineers are a phone call away if a reader or panel needs attention.
Most single-site installs are finished within a day or two, and larger multi-door jobs get a realistic timeframe with your quote.
Door access control in Glasgow, Edinburgh, and Central Belt
Access control jobs we take on range from a single office door to a network spanning several buildings. Either office handles both scales of work.
From a warehouse outside Falkirk to a shared close in Edinburgh, the installation carries the same SSAIB-approved standard.
Landlords and facilities managers often want more covered than access control alone.
Where CCTV or a monitored intruder alarm needs fitting too, the same engineers take care of it on one visit. That saves a second contractor turning up separately.

Door access control in Scotland: your questions answered
How much does door access control cost?
The cost depends on the number of doors and the entry method you choose affect the price most. We give you a fixed quote after a free site survey, so there’s no guessing beforehand.
Can access control integrate with our existing CCTV and alarm system?
Yes. We regularly tie door readers into existing CCTV and intruder alarm systems, even where another installer originally fitted them, provided the hardware is compatible. We’ll assess what’s already on site during the survey.
What happens if someone loses their fob or card?
You deactivate that one credential and issue a new one. Nobody else’s access changes, and there’s no need to rekey the building the way you would with a lost physical key.
How long does installation take?
A single door with one reader is usually finished within a day. A multi-door commercial site takes longer, and we’ll set out a realistic timeframe once we’ve surveyed the building.
Do you offer maintenance packages after installation?
Yes. We keep systems on a maintenance schedule and remind you before servicing is due. Our engineers handle repairs if a reader or panel develops a fault.
Can the system tell us who is on site right now?
Yes, provided your access control is card, fob or biometric rather than a shared keypad code. Every credential logs against a named person, so you can pull an accurate list of who’s swiped in. A list like that can pay off during an evacuation roll call, or a routine audit.
